Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Parently or Parently Kids mobile application(the "App"), website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using Parently, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
1. Who We Are
Parently and Parently Kids are operated by Canopas Software LLP ("Parently", "Company", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in India at 552-554, Laxmi Enclave 2, Katargam, Surat, Gujarat 395004.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Parently.
Parently is intended for use by parents or legal guardians to manage devices under their supervision.
By using the App, you confirm that:
- You have the legal authority to monitor the devices connected to your account
- You will use the App in compliance with applicable laws
3. License to Use Parently
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Parently for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You agree not to:
- use the App for commercial purposes
- misuse the Service or use it in violation of any laws or regulations
- attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the software
- get involved in fraudulent activities, or engage in financial manipulation or fraud
- transmit spam, scams, deceptive communications, or misrepresent yourself or others
- upload malware, harmful code, or other malicious content
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, servers, or systems
- disrupt, interfere with, or attempt to compromise the operation, functionality, or security of the Service
- harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- launder money or support any illegal activities
All rights not expressly granted remain with Canopas Software LLP.
4. Your Account
To use most features of Parently, you must create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate information when registering
- keep your account information updated
- keep your password secure
- notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- use Parently only on devices you own or have permission to control
- inform any individuals (including children, where appropriate) that monitoring features are active
- comply with all local laws related to privacy and monitoring
You are solely responsible for how you use the App. We are not responsible for losses caused by unauthorized access if you fail to secure your account credentials.
5. App Functionality & Limitations
Parently provides features such as:
- Screen time management
- App blocking
- Location tracking (if enabled)
However:
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Network issues, device settings, or OS restrictions may affect functionality
- Data such as location or usage may not always be accurate or real-time
6. Third-Party Services (YouTube & Maps)
Parently may utilize third-party APIs to provide specific features (e.g., YouTube monitoring or Map services).
By using YouTube monitoring features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms).
By using location features, you agree to the terms of our map providers (Google Maps/Apple Maps).
7. Fees and Subscriptions
Some features of Parently may require payment.
If you purchase a subscription:
- payments may be processed through Apple App Store or Google Play
- subscription terms and refunds are governed by those platforms
- subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled
You may cancel your subscription through your app store account settings.
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
Cancellations
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your app store account settings.
Refunds
All purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and their refund policies apply.
Free Trials
We may offer free trials from time to time.
Trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled
We may modify or discontinue trials at any time
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep Parently available and functioning properly.
However, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be:
- uninterrupted
- error-free
- completely secure
While Parently takes reasonable steps to protect and store user data, users are responsible for maintaining backups of important information such as journey records. Parently is not responsible for any loss of data resulting from user actions, system failures, or external events.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in Parently, including:
- software
- design
- logos
- branding and trademarks
- content
belong to Canopas Software LLP.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service without written permission.
10. Privacy
Your use of Parently is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, and protect your personal data.
By using the App, you agree to how we collect and use your information as described there.
11. Termination
You may stop using Parently at any time.
You may delete your account through the application settings.
We may suspend or terminate accounts if:
- these Terms are violated
- the Service is used illegally
- the Service is abused or misused
Upon termination, access to the Service may be removed.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parently shall not be liable for:
- indirect or consequential damages
- loss of data, profits, or opportunities
- inaccuracies in app data (e.g., location or usage information)
- failure to fully restrict or control device usage
arising from the use of the Service.
Parently’s total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during the previous 12 months.
13. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".
We do not guarantee that:
- the Service will always be available
- the Service will be free from errors
- the Service will meet all user expectations.
- monitoring or restriction features will be fully effective at all times
14. Force Majeure
Parently shall not be held liable for any delay, failure, or interruption in the Service caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These events may include natural disasters, acts of government, war, terrorism, labor disputes, internet service disruptions, power failures, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party service providers.
During such events, we will make reasonable efforts to restore the Service as soon as possible.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically.
Updated Terms will be posted within the app or on our website.
Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Parently regarding the use of the Service and replace any prior agreements or understandings.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in India.
